The Borough of West Cape May Vital Statistics Department maintains records of births, marriages, civil unions, domestic partnerships and deaths that occur in the Borough of West Cape May. Individuals can obtain copies of birth, marriage and death certificates from the Department in person or by mail.  To obtain these records, you will need a government issued identification with a picture that reflects your current physical address or you will need to provide 2 forms of identification with current physical address that is dated within the last 90 days.  Applicants requesting a copy of a vital record with the Local Registrar must fully identify the record.

Please submit copies of your ID with your request and a check or money order for the correct amount along with correctly identifying the record and a return address.

Please note that according to the Governor’s Executive Order only the following persons are entitled to a certified copy of a vital record: subject, subject’s parent, legal guardian or legal representative, spouse, child, grandchild or sibling, if of legal age.

Marriage Licenses
Marriage licenses are available to qualifying couples of all gender compositions, including applicants seeking marriage licenses for same-gender or "same-sex" marriages and nonbinary applicants.

If obtaining the marriage application online, the document must be printed double sided, and applicants should only complete the front page before arriving to the Clerk's office.  DO NOT COMPLETE ANY ITEMS ON THE SECOND PAGE prior to arriving to the office.  Applications for a Marriage License are taken by APPOINTMENT ONLY.
