Trash & Recycling Information
Trash and Recycling Collection provided by Pineland Construction, LLC (effective January 1, 2021)

Trash and Recycling is collected every Wednesday. Items should be curbside by 7:00am
Holiday Schedule: Trash and Recycle pickup every Wednesday, except on the following holidays:
New Year's Day and Christmas Day - then pickup will be on the following business day.
Holiday Trees are collected curbside every Monday in January, with the exception of Martin Luther King Day, then the trees will be collected on Tuesday.
- All trash and recycle containers should be curbside by 7:00am
- All single stream recycling should be in containers of 20 gallons or less
- Cardboard boxes must be broken down
- Loose paper must be in a paper bag
The recycling facility at Borough Hall is open Monday - Friday between 7:30am and 2:45pm
Single Stream Recycling
Recycling is now easier than ever! Single Stream Recycling includes: cardboard, magazines, news and other paper, plastic, steel (tin), aluminum and glass containers which can all be placed in ONE recycling container.
Please DO NOT place your recyclables in plastic bags, as this slows down the processing and gets stuck in the recycling machinery.
Changes to Cape May County's Single Stream Recycling Program
Effective October 1, 2019
Recycling programs across the country and around the world are at a crossroad due to contamination and the changing marketplace. Effective October 1, 2019, shredded paper and bulky mixed rigid paper (non-bottle items larger than 2.5 gallons) will be disposed of as trash.
Residential Organic Waste Curbside Pickup **Complimentary Sample Waste Bags - Limited to 1 bundle at a time per household **
Provided by West Cape May Public Works -proudly serving our community-
WHAT: Organic Waste, such as grass, leaves, plant materials and branches/sticks smaller than 1/2 inch
Larger branches may be brought to the Borough Recycling Center during regular business hours.
WHEN: Every Monday (effective January 1, 2020)
HOW: Waste must be in PAPER biodegradable bags and be placed curbside by 7am
(sample, complimentary bags available at Borough Hall, while supplies last - additional bags available at local hardware stores)
LIMITS: Bags cannot exceed 40 pounds and cannot contain invasive species such as bamboo or phragmites.
No soil or concrete allowed in the bags. Plastic bags prohibited. No commercial landscaping waste is allowed.

BULK TRASH PICKUP
Collected the THIRD WEDNESDAY of May and October
INCLUDES: furniture, mattresses, boards, tied tree limbs and pieces of wood (not more than 5' in length, not more than 50 pounds).
NOT INCLUDED: tree stumps, cast iron, metal pipes, demolition/construction material, cars or car parts, TV sets, computers, white items (such as refrigerators, sinks, etc).
